Programs

Air Quality Tracks air quality and provides education to reduce air pollution. Includes woodburning and smoking vehicle enforcement programs as well as lead-based paint identification.

Community Health Inspects day care facilities, pre-schools, group homes, jails, mass gatherings and schools.

Drinking Water Tests and inspects all public drinking water systems in the district and helps system managers maintain compliance to state standards.

Food Service Inspects food service establishments and investigates complaints. Includes food handler permit classes. Classes are available online or at the Health Department in Logan and Brigham. Tests can be taken in Logan or Brigham please call for an appointment.

Hazardous Waste & Used Oil Investigates spills, oversees clean up and participates with the state used oil recycling program.

Indoor Clean Air Act Educates and enforces the state law regarding smoking in public buildings.

Methamphetamine Inspection and Decontamination Inspects and samples methamphetamine contaminated properties. Provides oversight of decontamination.

Pools Tests water in public pools and spas, and provides training and certification for pool managers.

Solid Waste Inspects landfills, encourages recycling and works to reduce illegal dumping.

Underground Storage Tanks Conducts leak detection inspections and oversees installations and closures.

Water Pollution Investigates complaints and provides septic system consultation, inspections and permits.
